Alfa Romeo Sketch Battle: Final

So finally I upload this super fast one-day Alfa project that was done for the "Alfa Romeo Sketch Battle" final round,- the competition organized by www.cardesign.ru.

Here's the brief for the final (actually it's not the exact translation but a free interpretation):

'Imagine that the 'reset' button was pushed - you don't have to take the history of Alfa Romeo in consideration and absolutely free to create the new DNA for this Italian brand. Think of how Alfa's next gen cars could look without using it's historical heritage and create new styling cues that'll suite the brand.'

I'd say that it's a really tough brief for a one-day project! I was really puzzled - which styling cues should I keep and which I should "throw away". I finally came to a conclusion that Alfa's "scudetto" should remain for a reason that it's not a styling cue but almost a part of the badge. A simple example: if you are asked to do a new BMW without taking it's historical models in consideration, you'd still keep the kidneys*

So here's a quick explanation of the project:

"The concept for this Alfa Romeo proposal is based on the fact that the brand comes from Milan. This gives the carmaker a great advantage of non only having Italian passion and great heritage as it's styling cues but also gives the possibility to have an avantgarde and fancy look which is super charachteristic for this city.

This shootingbrake's target customers are young and independent people, like designers, architects and fashion industry entrepreneurs"
